Still On That Mission 615

I was parsing social media sites I had created in my past. Totally forgot about this blog until I saw it listed under my profile. It's been nearly ten years since my last blog. Well.....guess what......I'm back! Looking back at previous blogs I see the wisdom of my youth and I wonder what happened to that.

So much has happened n ten years. Ava has graduated from high school and has started college. She's in nursing school. She plans to be a registered nurse. I'm confident she'll do anything she puts her mind to. Lincoln is a junior in high school. He got his drivers license and it has been so nice being a passenger princess.  Time sure does fly when you're having fun.

I still work in the same field, go to the gym daily and hit the judo mat twice weekly. Some things just don't change.

I was at yoga in the beginning of the year and the teacher handed us each a piece of paper and told us to write down our word for the year. I'm not sure what I wrote down on that paper, but I'm certain that this year's word is GRATEFUL. I feel that as the time has passed, I've seen so many things, both good and bad. You can laugh about things, or you can cry about this. This year I chose to be GRATEFUL. I choose to see why I am GRATEFUL and what I am GRATEFUL for.

Work out Buddy?

Ok, who has a workout buddy? For my entire life I have preferred to work out alone. I know what I'm at the gym to do and I don't need anyone to help me. Recently this has changed for me. In the past few years I've been doing a lot of group workout classes. I find it's very important to regularly change me work out. I've had a few work out partners and I find that it is fun to get together and get the hard work done.

It's nice because I do a lot of things I probably wouldn't force myself to do on my own. I also get a
push when I'm slacking. It's fun to be able to meet someone for a class or to try something new out together.

Yes..I'm capable of getting up early and working out alone. I do this often throughout the week, but having someone else to exercise with shakes up my workout which I feel is imperative.

My son also really likes to work out with me. He's even helped me write a circuit. I think this is awesome because it's fun to see him try to work so hard and I want him to lead a healthy lifestyle. Sometimes my daughter joins us too. The way I look at it...monkey see, monkey to. If these kids grow up and can keep a normal workout regimen and try to stay healthy then I've done my job.
